Oude Molen

Established by René Santhagens in 1910, Oude Molen is South Africa’s foremost independent distillery.

Santhagens acquired his distilling skills in Cognac. Shortly after arriving at the Cape, he founded Oude Molen and soon earned a reputation as a true perfectionist. His distilling methods were written into law in 1924 and still underpin the quality standards for all Cape Brandy.

Today, the Oude Molen range of Cape Brandy remains internationally renowned for being the ultimate expression of a fruit-forward, expertly aged brandy from the southern tip of Africa.
